WILLIAM COSTER, yeoman, of Pitton, Wiltshire, according to the Parish Register entry for his son Henry ‘not worth by reputation £600 nor having £50 per annum’, b. circa 1666, m. 25 Jun 1694 at Salisbury Cathedral, MARY BURROUGH of Clarendon, Wiltshire. He was buried at Pitton, aged 58, on 13 Apr 1724 (Treasurer of Sarum will dated 20 Mar 1723/24 and proved 30 Jun 1724) and she was buried at Pitton on 1 Mar 1744/45 having had issue:

  1. John, bapt 23 Oct 1695 at Winterbourne Earls, Wiltshire, m. 29 Oct 1730 at Pitton, Joan Coster.

Jane, m. 28 Apr 1840 at St. Edmund, Salisbury, her first cousin once removed, Bernard Senior of Compton Pauncefoot and Lewes, Sussex, second son of Lewis Goodin Senior of Jamaica and his wife Elizabeth, youngest dau of George Husey, linen draper, of Salisbury.
